Use SCRIP and earn Tuition Credit

Picture this: you stop at the grocery store for fuit and snacks, you head to checkout, your purchases are scanned, and you pay with SCRIP. You just earned tuition credit! On the way home you pick up a movie at the video store and stop at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription, again you paid using SCRIP and again you earned tuition credit! The concept is simple. The school purchases gift certificates (scrip) from retailers and parents buy them in the school office. Last year we had 4 parents each receiving at least one month of free tuition in May because of SCRIP purchases made throuout the school year. Stop in the school office soon for an order form. SCRIP is great for gift giving too~

Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is a program that provides students an opportunity to use creative problem solving and apply their creativity to solve a given problem. The competitive element of this program encourages kids to be the best they can be, but it is a friendly competition. This trimester, a group of six students are working on both short term projects as well as a long term project during junior high elective time. The goal is that the students will increase in self-confidence while learning the rules and expectations and be ready to compete during the 2009-10 school year. This group of students has shown great promise already in their ability to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.

Soul Searching and Repenting

Change our hearts this time, our word says it can be. Change our minds this time, your life could make us free. We are the people your call set apart, Lord, this time change our hearts. Do the song lyrics sound familiar? If you were at Friday mass, you sang this beautiful song with us. Our second grade class prepared this special mass filled with songs to keep in our hearts as we prepare for Easter. Thank you Sister Isabel, Sister Pilar and 2nd graders.

Student Awards

On Friday, our 2nd Trimester Awards assembly was held at 2:00pm. Students in grades K-8 received recognition for working hard during the trimester to earn Silver and Gold Honor Roll. The Top 3 point earners in Accelerated Reader also received an award. Coach Washington and his team of coaches gave awards to Basketball players, recognizing the most improved player, most inspirational player, and coaches' award winner. To end the assembly, our 3rd and 4th grade Peach Blossom participants performed their poems for the audience. Way to go students! We have great students at our school, both talented and studious. Keep up the great work.
